The DC Police Department responded to Jackson-Reed High School, formerly named Woodrow Wilson High School, on Chesapeake Street after receiving a report of suspects in two vehicles exchanging gunfire, they said on Twitter around 3 p.m.
The school was put on lockdown out of an abundance of caution, but police confirmed there is no active threat.
The investigation remains ongoing and police are expected to provide updates soon.
